What is Vacation Mode and how does it work?
It’s a feature that lets you temporarily pause your products. When you activate it:
- Buyers can still see your listings in search results.
- The “Buy” button is automatically disabled on your products so that no one can make you an offer you won’t be able to fulfill.
- A visual badge is added to your item details and your profile to let users know you’re away.
How can I turn Vacation Mode on or off?
It’s very easy. Just follow these steps in the app:
- Go to your Profile and open the Settings section.
- Find the Vacation Mode option.
- Select your start date and the date you’ll be back.
- That’s it! You’ll see a reminder banner on your profile while it’s active. You can turn it off or change the dates at any time if you decide to return early.
Is there a time limit for Vacation Mode?
Yes, to ensure the best community experience and avoid “ghost” listings, you can activate Vacation Mode for a maximum of 45 consecutive days.
If you need more time, once the period expires, you can reactivate it to confirm that you’re still monitoring your account.
If I activate Vacation Mode, can buyers message me?
Yes, the chat is still active. Users will still be able to send you messages to ask questions about your products. They’ll see an informational banner in the chat reminding them that you’re on vacation, so they’ll know it might take you a little longer than usual to respond.
I have an ongoing buy/sell transaction or a package pending shipment—what happens to it?
Vacation Mode does not affect transactions that were already accepted before you activated it:
- Pending shipments: You must ship the item within the legal and standard Wallapop timeframe to prevent the transaction from expiring and being automatically canceled.
- Pending purchase requests: If you received an offer right before you left, the request will follow its normal course (it won’t be automatically approved or rejected). You’ll need to handle it yourself.
- Disputes: The dispute and claim process follows the same rules and deadlines as always. We recommend checking your account to see if you have any open cases.
